The release date for Necromunda has been revealed at Spiel – you’ll be able pre-order the Necromunda: Underhive boxed set and the Gang War expansion on the 11th of November.

Necromunda: Underhive is the start of your journey into the depths of Hive Primus and beyond, containing everything you’ll need to play intense gang skirmishes. There’s rules and miniatures to build and customise two gangs of your own – from the hulking vat-spawn of House Goliath to the chem-fuelled mavens of House Escher. Playing is easy thanks to the new Zone Mortalis mode of play, allowing you to set up a battlefield with the provided boards and terrain, such as barricades, bulkhead doors and even a monster’s lair. Starting to play with Underhive is simple – if you want to learn how, check out the video – while companion supplement Gang War allows you to take your games of Necromunda even further.


What is Gang War? This is Necromunda’s first expansion, taking the principles in the Underhive set and combining them with the sprawling 3D battlefields and rich, progression based campaigns that defined the classic editions of the game. In this 64-page book, you’ll find everything you need to take your game to the next level, from advanced rules to running your own Turf War campaigns with your gaming group. Gang War will be released simultaneously with Necromunda: Underhive, meaning if you like, you’ll be able to play with the advanced rules from day one.




In short, Necromunda: Underhive makes getting started with Necromunda simple, while Gang War combines the new, fast-paced style of play with the mechanics you know and love from previous editions.

Some lucky players have had a chance to try the game for themselves at Spiel, among an omnifarious offering of other Warhammer games (we’ll be making some announcements about these later in the week, including when you can expect to see the next two Shadespire warbands!).

LEGACY RULES:
PDF on the web site, live on the game release date, for orlock, van sar, etc.. but only for the weapons the original metal models got. So don’t get too hyped.

Future
Orlocks are next year.
One plastic team every quarter +possible few wd, pdf article.
Brand new gangs are hyped.
John blanche made a book a of 80pages of fluff but the book went missing. And then new archivist of GW TIM found this book for andy. SO LOT OF inspiration.
Box set available in: eng, fren, german.
They have stock of the box - don't be scared, you should get your box if you pre-order.

Rules:
Total rewrite of the rules for underhive. Gang war 3D, is built on the underhive rule set.
It’s a "I go, you go": “interleave turn” system. So you can active more than 1 models (no details on how).

Gang tactics:
All scenario use them in a different way : choose, drawn at random, weak side can draw more or choose. There is a lot of granularity with these.

Dice:
Fire power dice : Each time you roll to hit, you roll 1+ fire power dice (depending on the weapon). Work as a sustained fire dice and ammo dice.

Red tiles: The box is a necromunda loading dock. It’s a training room at start and will be used for multiplayers 3+ (pit fight style) or future scenario.


Lvl up:
Gangs are more than the 15 players you used to have in necromunda classic.
Now you can select a crew before each scenario.
Specialist, juvie and champion get skills, gangers can’t but can be promoted to champ or specialist.
Rules for juvie will be in gangs war book, with a lot of importance. If the juvie survive a few games it became the star of the gang(no more details but lot of hype around the juvie.)

WW preparing a map of underspire in 3D.

Gang war games use a 4by4 size table.

Support class: doc, ratling cook, ….(4 planned)
FW upgrade are already on the way to new weapons, iconic item …
House weapons blitzer will be made with rules to them !
They want to make rules for everything possible to allow kitbashing a goliath with a driller !
Champions are the new heavy !

Genestealer and Chaos Cults will get rules down the line. Maybe quite early via online or WD!!
All the Genestealer Cult weapons are usable by all other gangs too, so have fun kit-bashing stuff!

Hello everyone !!

Article 7 of our Necromunda review : Sector Mechanicus rules. (aka Playing 3D).

In the Gang war gaming supplement, there are a few pages dedicated to the rules used for playing with 3D scenery.
Nothing complex, but give a lot of extra depth to the game !

I) Scenery
As shown on the cover image, a Necromunda table is on multiple level with a lot of pathway between them. Off course this amount of scenery ask for a few more rules than in the Underhive rule set.

A) True Los & Cover
True los

In 3DMunda you don't use the Los rules included in Underhive, instead you use these :



So you check Los by looking through the eyes of the model and you can't mesure anything prior shooting !
Nothing incredibly new but i like these additions a lot !

Good reminder that even in the depth of the Necromunda Hive you have to be nice Very Happy

B) Terrain type
How to build this cool board ?



In a nutshell you only need a lot of $$$ ^^

Different terrains effects.

-Difficult terrain cost twice the movement.
-Platform where you can fall from if you fail init roll while being 0.5" away from the edge.
-Railway that help you avoiding fall (add +1 to the initiave roll for avoiding fall, 1 still a fumble off course.)

II) Movement
A) Safe movement
Stepping up



So very low wall, junk on the floor, bodies ^^ don't slow you.

Climbing



What a nice addition, you basically climb everything now ! ok it cost 2" for 1" and you must end your turn on solid ground. But you can use a double action to climb (Sprint allowing you to climp 9" a turn !!). There is no climbing roll to make.

Ladder



Exactly like climbing but by using a ladder you are not slowed !

Overhang



I am not sure this was a necessity but it's good to have this corner case solved.

B) Full parkour
While the other forms of movements are safe enough to not require a roll, these 2 are for the optimistic !

Jumping down



You roll initiative (that is now presented like 40k 8th ws/bs) if you roll less than your initiative you are prone + suffer a hit with a strength depending on the height. Note that the higher the fall the bigger the malus you get for the roll, as an exception rolling a 6 is NOT always a success.
If the roll is passed the vertical movement is FREE !!! and you get a lot extra threat range !

Jumping Gap



You must have enough movement to fit 100% of the base on the other side.
You roll init without modifier.
If you fail you fall ^^ (HAHA).
You can jump to a platform 2" higher or to a lower platform but you have to roll for jumping down too !

Falling
Str 3, damage 1 up to 5" fall.
Str 5/7/9, with D 1/2/3 if you fall from higher place (that hurt a lot ^^)

Ok that's it for a quick rundown on the 3D rules for Necromunda.
I really love this rule set, the game is so rich with it and there is no slowing down of the game.
We only played with it once (with our old gang proxy) but the Escher gang feel totally different in the 3D mode. They are so nimble and fast
jumping everywhere, charging from upper platform. It really changed the game for us !!
Special mention to the Combat-shotgun with knockback ammo and rapid fire ^^
